Will be attempting a big update this weekend, but meanwhile, I think this little gizmo would have come in handy for both Messrs 李 and Goh…

So I was doing some surfing again, and came across these two items you could buy to start some conversations :)

1. A Swiss army knife with 85 (!!!) tools. Take a look. It’s insane.

2. A teddy bear that houses a flash drive. To connect it to your computer’s USB port, you have to rip off the teddy bear’s head, as you can see here. Scare annoying children!

So I surfed a whole lot today, and rooted out some interesting stuff:

• a Slate review about which mints are most effective in staving off after-meal breath
• an all-terrain camera tripod – the Joby gorillapod
• a tent that sets itself up in two seconds – the Decathlon 2-Second Tent

I think the Slate review, which recommended SMINT, was spot on. Haven’t tried the other two items, but think the idea of the gorillapod was something someone should have thought of a long time ago. If those flexible tripod legs retain their “grip” over time, that gorillapod would make a useful gift for a photog friend of mine…
